The Advocacy Programs at the Louisiana State University Law Center are once again sponsoring the Ira S. Flory Mock Trial Competition. Your assistance as a judge for this semester’s Flory competition is graciously requested based on your experience and expertise in litigation and general oral advocacy, and we hope you will serve as a judge for this year’s competition.

The Ira S. Flory Mock Trial Competition, sponsored by the Trial Advocacy Board is open to all second-and third-year law students. Teams consist of two students who engage in a full criminal trial. The fall 2014 Flory schedule has been set as follows (rounds will be held from 6-8 and 8-10 pm):

      • Preliminary Round 1        September 8, 2014

      • Preliminary Round 2        September 10, 2014

      • Octofinal Round        September 15, 2014

      • Quarterfinal Round        September 17, 2014

      • Semifinal Round        September 22, 2014

Please contact us if you are interested in serving as a judge in the Ira S. Flory Mock Trial Competition. The success of each competition is entirely dependent on our having competent and effective judges who will familiarize themselves with the case file and evaluate the performance of each student objectively, and we truly hope you will be able to join us.If you’re unable to, we would greatly appreciate your forwarding this invitation on to other attorneys that you feel might be good judges for our trial competition.

Feel free to select the dates that best fit your schedule; we will work to accommodate your availability. Thank you for your continued commitment to the Louisiana State University Law Center’s Advocacy Programs. Our success would not be possible without your support.

Best,

Alexier Barbour
