The BRBA Bench Bar Conference is July 26-29. Yes, the wait is almost over for the BRBA Bench Bar Conference! Before you travel to the Hilton Sandestin Hotel Beach Resort, here are a few important details of what to expect ...
- A great turnout of federal, state, appellate and city court judges are registered to attend the conference along with a number of BRBA members, but, we know that schedules can change at the last minute. If this happens to you, contact Ann K. Gregorie (ann@brba.org) if you need an additional room at the resort or before you cancel an existing room reservation.
- This schedule (pages 4-5) is your guide to the exciting social and educational events the committee, under the leadership of Hayden Moore, Jordan Bollinger and Judge Bill Morvant, has planned for you! Highlights include a reception for early arrivals at 6 p.m. on Wednesday; 12.5 hours of CLE seminars starting at 1:15 p.m. on Thursday; dining and dancing with the Bag of Donuts on Thursday night; and testing your skills at the Family Game Night on Friday night.
- CLE materials are being uploaded and will be accessible on our website . Wi-Fi will be available in the meeting room
- Want to play golf? We have secured tee times for the annual golf tournament at the Baytowne Golf Club. An entry fee of $125 per person can be paid in advance by contacting the bar office or at the conference registration desk. For more information, contact Jeff Watson.
- Sponsored by a generous donation from Dudley DeBosier, the winner of this year’s LSU Football raffle will select a game day package for two people (hotel, transportation, pre-game party and 2 game tickets) to either the LSU vs. Alabama game or the LSU vs. Tennessee game. Only 300 tickets at $50 per ticket will be sold. Tickets are available by calling the bar office at 225-344-4803 or at the conference registration desk. The drawing will be held Saturday, July 29 (winner need not be present to win).
- Registration will open at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 27, in the Coral Ballroom Foyer. Stop by to pick up your conference materials and nametag. Due to the number of other conferences being held at the hotel, we are asking you to wear your nametag as it is your ticket to the social events on Thursday and Friday nights. - Back by popular demand is our Dine Around on Friday at 6 p.m. Available restaurants include Seagar’s, Marlin Grill, Bijoux, Ocean Club, Tommy Bahama and Tuscany Italian Bistro. Sign up is available at the conference registration table. All reservations are first-come, first-served.
