The Family Court of East Baton Rouge Parish

Areas of practice:

I am currently a staff attorney at The Family Court of East Baton Rouge Parish, so we deal with a variety of family law proceedings.

Favorite BRBA project or event:

Law Expo (for the swag).

The part of my job I do best is:

I try to be very organized, especially when it comes to preparing my judge for rule days and court hearings.

Pet peeve:

Unnecessary rudeness.

Suggestions for law students:

First, it's going to be all right. Also, watch court at some point to see if that's something you're interested in.

Culinary talent:

No specific talents, but I do enjoy trying things out in the kitchen.

Favorite attorney portrayed in a movie:

Horace Rumpole in "Rumpole of the Bailey."

Generally likes to read:

Nonfiction and biographies.

Favorite or most interesting courses in law school:

Actually, Family Law was interesting to learn about because there is so many things that you wouldn't think about in the law.

Best advice you have received:

"It's better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid then to open it and remove all doubt."

What makes you excited about going to work?

Usually, I'm excited to get in court and hear cases. Needless to say, things are rarely dull in family court.

How do you begin your workday?

The first think I do every morning is check and return voicemails and emails. It's so important to return messages as quickly as possible.
