Judge Alex "Brick" Wall announces retirement

Judge Alex "Brick" Wall, Division C, Baton Rouge City Court, announced that he will retire as judge effective Feb. 20, 2015. He was first elected and sworn in as City Judge on Dec. 14, 1999. Judge Wall was re-elected in 2000 and 2006 without opposition, and, most recently re-elected in 2012. Prior to his election as City Court Judge, he practiced 26 years as an attorney and partner in the Riche & Wall Law Firm.

Per Order of the La. Supreme Court, Judge Wall will be assigned as judge pro tempore of Division C, upon his retirement, effective for the period of Feb. 21, 2015, through Aug. 20, 2015, or until the vacancy is filled, whichever occurs sooner, or until further order of the Court. Thereafter, he will continue to serve the Court in an ad hoc capacity upon appointment.
