Baton Rouge lawyers compete on the culinary level to raise funds for local youth

 

On Friday,  Sept. 28, 2012, the Baton Rouge Bar Foundation will hold its 14th annual Belly Up with the Bar cook-off, brew fest and outdoor party beginning at 5 p.m. at the Live Oak Arabian Stables, 6300 Jefferson Hwy.

 

Teams of local lawyers will prepare food and beverages to compete for various Belly Up with the Bar titles.  Celebrities from around the Baton Rouge area will judge the teams. This year’s panel of judges includes Pam Bordelon of The Advocate; Jay Ducote of 225 Magazine; Jim Shannon of WAFB-Channel 9; Michael Shingleton of WBRZ-Channel 2; Chris Roussell of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church; Rudy Macklin of the Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports and former Louisiana State University basketball player; and Kris Cusanza of WVLA-Channel 33.

 

The event will feature kids’ activities and live entertainment by the band, Storywood. Event tickets are available in advance and at the door. All proceeds will benefit the BRBF’s youth education and community outreach programs.
