Helping my clients succeed. 


What most people don't know about me:

I worked as a deputy sheriff through undergrad and was once assigned to jet ski patrol on False River.


Family:

Dana Bonaventure, wife; Rock, son (12); and Addison, daughter (5).


Latest pursuit:

Forming Ogwyn Bonaventure, LLC, with a wonderful partner, David Ogwyn and great team.


Pet peeve:

Lack of Communication.


Best thing about being a lawyer:

When you can reach a "win-win" for everyone.


If you could be anyone else for a day, who would you be?

Lucky Dog vendor in the Quarter.


Best vacation:

New York City anniversary trip with my wife.


Favorite food or restaurant:

Sushi.

What was the turning point that made you decide to become an attorney?

Working as a sheriff's deputy, I had thought about becoming a prosecutor. But one day, I had to fill in for the bailiff in a civil court proceeding and watched them advocate, exposing me to all the possibilities. I knew I wanted to go to law school from thereon.


If I had more time, I would:

Spend it with my family.


Community involvement:

Actively involved in Leadership Ascension.

Favorite law school memory:

Graduation.

Southeastern Louisiana University (undergrad); Southern University Law Center (J.D.).

Suggestions for young lawyers:

Get involved with the Baton Rouge Bar Association and encourage your friends to do so as well.
Volunteer for a committee. This will pay off tremendously.
