W. Chase Gore

Irwin Fritchie Urquhart & Moore

BRBA: Tell us about your education.
C.E. Byrd High School
LSU undergraduate
LSU Law School

BRBA:  Where are you from?
Born and raised in Blanchard, Louisiana (just north of Shreveport), but I have lived in Baton Rouge since 2010.

BRBA: Where and what type of law do you practice?
I am an associate at Irwin Fritchie Urquhart & Moore, and I practice casualty and commercial litigation.

BRBA: Why did you want to become an attorney?
Growing up I always wanted to work in a profession where I could be creative every single day, and that would allow me the chance to get out of the office once in a while to meet and get to know new people. Practicing law has checked all those boxes.

BRBA: If you were not practicing law, what would be your alternate profession?
History teacher/professor. I am an American history fanatic and I think I would love to pass that passion on to the next generation.

BRBA: What is one thing you wish you would have known before you went to law school?
Involvement in as many different organizations and events you can balance with school will be both personally and professionally rewarding and will allow you to make long-lasting connections to professionals in the community that survive after graduation.

BRBA: What motivated you to become involved with the BRBA?
I was told it was the best way for a young attorney to meet both younger and older attorneys in the Baton Rouge area—absolutely true!

BRBA: What is your favorite BRBA activity or event?
Belly up with the Bar. I have had the opportunity to set up a station and cook for the event three years in a row. Combining attorneys in Baton Rouge with great food and music for a good cause is something I look forward to every year.

BRBA: Are you involved with any other organizations or causes?
I serve on the Louisiana Lighthouse for the Blind’s Advisory Board. The Lighthouse is an amazing organization that provides services, employment, and critical advocacy for disabled individuals in the New Orleans and Baton Rouge communities.

BRBA: What is the best piece of advice you have received?
No matter what it is you are doing, give it your 100%.

BRBA: What are your leisure activities?
Anything that gets me outside. Usually golfing, hunting, fishing, and LSU sports.

BRBA: What is the last book that you read?

Kingfish: The Reign of Huey P. Long
