Join the Baton Rouge Bar Association on Constitution Day for a special program examining the ethical responsibilities of Louisiana lawyers through the commitments contained in the Louisiana Lawyer’s Oath.
The event will begin with a one-hour ethics CLE featuring Justice John Michael Guidry and Chief Judge Shelly Dick ceremonial renewal of the oath, followed by a ceremonial renewal of the oath. The discussion will explore lawyers’ duties of candor, integrity, civility, respect for the judiciary, service to the defenseless and oppressed, and responsibility to the administration of justice.
Attendees will also hear judicial perspectives on the conduct expected of attorneys practicing in both state and federal courts and the continuing importance of the Lawyer’s Oath in everyday legal practice.
