Ryan Brown to receive LSBA Young Lawyers Division Pro Bono Award

Ryan Brown, an associate of Roedel, Parsons, Koch, Blache, Balhoff & McCollister, ALC, has been selected to receive the LSBA Young Lawyers Division Pro Bono Award. This award is given to a young lawyer for commitment and dedication to providing pro bono services in his community.Admitted to practice in 2007, Brown completed his J.D. from the LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center and received his B.A. from LSU in information technology. Brown’s practice focuses on business transactions, civil litigation, corporate law, public information, newspaper law and successions.

 

Brown, who will chair the 2013 BRBF Holiday Star Committee, is dedicated to serving the legal community. One of the most active young lawyers on the BRBF Pro Bono Panel, Brown has promoted pro bono and community service to his fellow young lawyers and shares details of his experiences. He has accepted pro bono cases, volunteered with the Ask-A-Lawyer walk-in legal clinic and volunteers monthly at the Self Help Resource Center, where he supervises BRBF staff and law students as they provide information and assistance to self-represented litigants in Family Court. Through CLE seminars, Brown has trained his fellow pro bono volunteers to assist with Center. In addition to his work with the BRBF Pro Bono Project, Brown has also volunteered with the Law Day, the High School Mock Trial Competition and Junior Partners Academy.
