Local attorney selected to receive prestigious award from the Louisiana State Bar Association

Attorney Michael S. Walsh was selected as a recipient of the Louisiana State Bar Association’s 2012 Crystal Gavel Award. The award is given to lawyers and judges who have been an asset to the community.

Walsh is the president-elect of the Baton Rouge Bar Association and the Baton Rouge Bar Foundation. He received his juris doctorate from the LSU Law Center and is a partner in the firm of Lee and Walsh.
In the past, Walsh served as president of the Louisiana Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the Baton Rouge Bar of Criminal Justice. He is a past chairman of both the Catholic Diocese of Baton Rouge Youth Protection Committee and the Board of the Capital Area Family Violence Intervention Center, Inc. He also frequently lectures locally and nationally at Continuing Legal Education seminars.

Walsh is admitted to practice law before the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit Court, the United States Middle, Eastern and Western District Courts of Louisiana, the Southern District of Mississippi and the Southern District of Texas.
