Lawyer Referral Service offers opportunity to build clientele

The BRBA offers a Lawyer Referral and Information Service to aid the public in obtaining legal services. It is a not-for-profit community service that provides unbiased referrals based on lawyers’ qualifications.

The primary function is to introduce each client to a lawyer who can provide the legal services he or she needs, in addition to helping lawyers add to their client base. Last year the BRBA Lawyer Referral Service referred more than 3,000 callers requesting referrals to attorneys.

Referrals are made using criteria based on area of law and geographic preferences to provide a mutually beneficial match for both the lawyer and the client. Attorneys receive their referrals by email or fax within an hour of the potential client calling the service.

Annual membership fees for lawyers are based on years of practice.

Lawyers can contact LRIS Coordinator Carole McGehee for more information at carole@brba.org or 225-344-9926.
