ABA’s National Arbitration Competition at LSU Law Center Nov. 16-17 – Judges needed
The LSU Law Center is a host school for a regional round of the ABA’s National Arbitration Competition Nov. 16 and 17. The Law Center is seeking approximately 54 attorneys experienced in alternative dispute resolution to serve as arbitrator-judges for the competition who will sit as a panel in a mock arbitration hearing, and will hear teams of law students present their cases in a fictional commercial real estate transaction dispute. Students will present opening arguments, call and examine witnesses, make evidentiary presentations, and present summations to the panel. All rounds will be held at the LSU Law Center, and judges will be provided with breakfast and lunch.
The schedule of events is as follows:
Round 1 – Saturday, Nov. 16, 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Round 2 – Saturday, Nov. 16, 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Semifinal Round – Sunday, Nov. 17, 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Final Round – Sunday, Nov. 17, 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.
