Gwen Harmon, an attorney in Phelps Dunbar’s Baton Rouge office, was honored at the March 27, 2014, Baton Rouge Bar Association luncheon with the Louisiana State Bar Association’s Crystal Gavel Award for her volunteer work with the Aquinas League and Canine Companions for Independence.

She was nominated by the Baton Rouge Bar Association.

Harmon is a co-founder and current member of the Aquinas League, which organizes charity tennis tournaments in the Baton Rouge area. Also, she is a volunteer puppy raiser for Canine Companions for Independence, which provides trained assistance dogs to people with disabilities and professional caregivers providing pet assisted therapy.
