Baton Rouge Bar Association aims for a full house at annual Fall Expo & Conference
Event to be held L’Auberge Casino Thursday, Oct 3 at 11 a.m.

The Baton Rouge Bar Association Fall Expo & Conference kicks off at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct 3, at L’Auberge Casino & Hotel Baton Rouge. The one-day event includes an expo, three hours of continuing legal education seminars for attorneys, a reception, and the October Bar Luncheon featuring keynote speaker Chief Justice Bernette Joshua Johnson.
Johnson, the first African American Chief Justice of the Louisiana Supreme Court, was elected first in 1994 and again in 2000 and 2010. She was sworn in as Chief Justice Feb. 1, 2013. She is also one of the first African American women to attend LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center, where she was later inducted into the University’s hall of fame.
Other notable speakers for the event include Charles Plattsmier, H. Alston Johnson III and Judges Pam Baker, Douglas Dodd and John Michael Guidry.
Event attendees will have the opportunity to network with judges, attorneys and more than 30 exhibitors. Among the featured exhibitors will be Postlethwaithe & Netterville, platinum sponsor, and Kay E. Donnelly & Associates, silver sponsor.
The event will be followed by a reception, which concludes 6:30 p.m. Door prizes will available to those who attend.
