Louisiana Supreme Court Chief Justice Catherine Kimball to be honored at upcoming BRBA luncheon


On Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012, the Baton Rouge Bar Association will hold its November Bar Luncheon at the Baton Rouge Marriott, 5500 Hilton Ave.  Louisiana Supreme Court Chief Justice Catherine “Kitty” Kimball will be the luncheon speaker.  Kimball, who is being honored for all she has done to support the Baton Rouge Bar Association, will retire after 20 years of service on the high court in January 2013.


Also during the luncheon, the American Bar Association Partnership Award will be presented to chairmen of the Baton Rouge Bar Foundation’s youth education initiative committees.  Those receiving the award are Weldon Hill II (chair of Teen Court of Greater Baton Rouge); Beau James Brock (chair of the Law Day Committee); Wendy Shea (chair of the Youth Education Committee); and Lauren Byrd Reed (chair of the Mock Trial Competition Committee).


In addition, the Baton Rouge Legal Scholarship will be presented by the BRBA to Sherry Sanders of Southern University Law Center and Joshua Tyler Wood of the LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center.
