I am a generalist with a specialty in regulatory and legislative matters.
Involvement with the BRBA:
Since 2012 [I've been a member], but recently I have tried to increase my involvement with the Pro Bono Project by taking at least one pro bono case at a time.
Of what accomplishments are you most proud?
My two great kids, Hutson and Ella.
Favorite artists:
Thomas Cole (visual art) and Allman Brothers Band (music).
The last movie I saw:
I love mindless, stupid movies; thus, I can't even remember the last movie I saw, but probably something with Will Ferrell.
Generally likes to read:
Non-fiction, and I love organized crime accounts.
Memorable vacation:
All the road trips.
The biggest challenge facing attorneys today:
Setting boundaries. I'm available 24/7.
Family:
Two kids and my beautiful wife, Sara.
If you could be anyone else for a day, who would you be and what would you do?
My dog, and settle in for a solid 8-hour nap.
If you weren't an attorney, what profession do you think you would be in?
Coaching. I played sports, football and lacrosse, into college. One day, I hope to retire and be a teacher/coach.
Favorite saying/quote:
If we're not under pressure, we're not having fun.
Favorite restaurant:
Felipe's in New Orleans.
Community involvement:
Pro bono cases, coaching, officiating.
Preferred sporting activity/event:
Any sporting event. I love basketball, lacrosse and football.
What was your first job?
Working fields and grounds for an athletic complex.
Advice for young lawyers:
Keep challenging yourself and don't be afraid to fail.
