I currently practice Family Law with Southeast Louisiana Legal Services.
Hobbies:
I love to travel, shop, watch TV and the latest movies.
If I had more time, I would:
Learn how to speak another language, likely Spanish.
What is the biggest challenge facing attorneys today:
I think the biggest challenge facing attorneys today is balancing work life with home life. I think that will always be a challenge.
Community involvement:
I have volunteered with Teen Court for the past two years. I currently serve as the Teen Court Committee Chair for 2014. I also volunteer at the Self Help Resource Center with the Family Court in Baton Rouge .
Best thing about being a lawyer:
The best thing about being a lawyer is the sense of reward you get when helping someone who truly could not help themselves.

I absolutely love Scooby Doo!

Nothing. I read enough in law school. LOL.
What was the turning point that made you decide to become an attorney?
When I learned about the Civil Rights Movement in elementary school, I decided that I wanted to become an attorney. I wanted nothing more than to help individuals fight against injustice.
Mountains or Beach?
Beach
Favorite place in Baton Rouge:
Kona Grill located in Perkins Rowe. I love sitting on the patio when the weather is nice.
Favorite BRBA project or event:
My favorite BRBA project/event would have to be anything associated with Teen Court. I am very passionate about working with the youth and Teen Court allows me to do just that.
Favorite law school professor:
I actually have two favorite law school professors: Professor Russell Jones and Professor Donald North from Southern University Law Center. I learned a lot from both and really enjoyed class time.
Favorite sport:
My favorite sport to watch is football, but my favorite to play is softball.
Person I would like to have lunch with:
I would like to have lunch with First Lady Michelle Obama. I really admire her and I am sure she could teach me a thing or two..
Culinary talent:
I'm not much of a cook, but I do know how to bake cookies.
