Areas of practice:

Most of my career has been spent as an insurance defense attorney, although I have been fortunate the last few years to transition to a full-time mediation practice.

Mentor / hero:

My wife, Joan. She's smart, beautiful and the best person I know.

What most people don't know about me:

My first life was as a CPA with Price Waterhouse.

Family:

Five children. Scottie is the oldest and is a chef; Johnny is an investment banker with Barclay's; Julie has finished her second year at the LSU Law Center; Michael has just been commissioned a second lieutenant in the Marine Corps; and Mary will be a freshman at LSU in the fall. 

Latest pursuit:

Between May 18 and Aug. 1, all five of our children will either graduate or get married.

Pet peeve:

People talking on a cell phone in the check-out line.

Best thing about being a lawyer:

Having a chance to make a difference in someone's life.

If you could be anyone else for a day, who would you be?

Drew Brees -- on game day.

Favorite food or restaurant:

Fleur de Lis pizza.

Mountains or Beach?

Beach. Joan and I could live there.

If I had more time, I would:

Become an average golfer. Right now I am horrible, but would love to have the time to be consistent.

Community involvement:

We have been very involved with our church and our children's schools.

Favorite sport:

Watching football (spectating is a sport, isn't it?).
