Calli M. Boudreaux

 Watson, Blanche, Wilson & Posner

Areas of Practice:

Medical Malpractice Defense, Hospital General Liability Defense, Insurance Defense, Construction Litigation.

Favorite BRBA project or event:

Belly Up with the Bar.

Hobbies:

Triathlons. I completed my first half-ironman last year and am currently training for another as well as training for the Louisiana Marathon in January.

If I had more time, I would:

Travel more.

What is the biggest challenge facing attorneys today:

"Leaving the office." Technology now makes us all accessible 24/7.

Best thing about being a lawyer:

Getting to meet really interesting people. Each case is like its own story and generally has a very interesting cast of characters.

Bet you didn't know:

I was the school mascot for three years in high school.

Currently reading:

Millions of pages of medical records . . . and Amy Poehler's Yes Please.

Where did you grow up?

Napoleonville.

Favorite place in Baton Rouge:

The LSU lakes on a cool fall day . . . followed closely by Tiger Stadium.

Favorite law school professor:

The man, the myth, the Cheney Joseph.

Favorite sport:

Swimming . . . followed closely by football.

What did you learn from your legal mentor?

The world is round. Treat people well and they will return the favor one day.

Favorite or most interesting courses in law school:

Torts and criminal law, which I never used again.

Most rewarding moment in your practice:

Receiving a really nice note from a client after a nursing board case against him was dismissed. Winning trials is nice and all, but it's the "thank yous" that really matter.

What was your first job?

An "assistant" to the Honorable Jane Triche-Milazzo the summer before I moved to college. I ate cheese nips and summarized depositions.

If you could have any superpower, what would it be?

Flying, so that I wouldn't have to deal with Baton Rouge traffic. You could just fly right home!
